Title-9: The Political Economy of Labor Unrest: Rule of Industrial Police for Bridging the Governance Gap Between Factory Owners and Workers. Background of the project: This research proposal explores the structural and political-economic drivers of labour unrest, focusing on the "governance gap"-the disconnect among factory management, regulatory bodies, and the workforce. The study emphasizes the need for a tripartite governance model involving government, owners, and labour unions to foster long-term industrial stability. Objectives of the Assignment: 1. To analyze the governance structures and regulatory mechanisms shaping worker-employer relations at the factory level. 2. To identify the critical governance gaps (e.g. wage gap. inflations, Power imblances weak enforcement, lack of grievance redress, limited worker representation) contributing to labour unrest. 3. To explore the perceptions and experiences of workers and factory owners regarding rights, fairness, and accountability. 4. To develop evidence-based policy recommendations to strengthen labour governance and reduce industrial conflict. 5. To evaluate the Trust building among government, worker and owners.
