Title-3: Cybercrime and Online Scams in Bangladesh: Assessing Police Response Capacity, Investigative Challenges, and Strategies for Strengthening Cyber Policing. Background of the project: Online scams are increasing in scale, technical complexity, and cross-border reach. In Bangladesh, the Cyber Police Centre (CPC) of CID plays a central role in investigating these offences, yet investigators often face pressure from limited manpower, evolving offender tactics, gaps in digital-forensic capacity, and delays in obtaining electronic evidence from service providers and foreign jurisdictions. As scams increasingly involve mobile financial services, bank accounts, social-media platforms, and cryptoasset-related laundering, it is necessary to assess whether current investigative capacity is sufficient and what practical reforms are most urgently required. Objectives of the Assignment: 1.To assess the existing capacity of CPC-CID in investigating online scams, 2.To identify key limitations and bottlenecks affecting investigative effectiveness 3.To examine the prospects of improving cyber-policing through training, tools, procedures, and coordination, and 4.To suggest practical recommendations for strengthening online scam investigations.
